Day 1 – Lessons from an aspiring pro

For the next few days, we will be exploring the world of online micro-stakes poker, and discussing some strategies and tactics that you can employ in your own games to immediately boost your win-rate.

I’ll like to start off this mini-series with a vodcast, where I invite my friend Daniel to discuss what we have learnt so far during his journey through the micro-stakes at Pokerstars. In this video, we share some insights about the micro-stakes games as well as our opinions on the lifestyle and mindset of professional poker players.

Tomorrow, I will covering some of the common mistakes online players make and how to avoid them. Enjoy !

Good point with the stop loss,i have the exact same problem of chasing when i’m losing and if i’m winning i get scared to lose what i won.Still trying to work on it.
If i lose a few buy ins i take a break for an hour or more and watch a film or play the guitar and then go back once i’m a bit calmer and have talked to myself saying” right you lost a few buy ins,it happens, stick to your game plan”

When i’m winning though,i still find it hard to keep playing with the fear of loss.i know it hard to ask for a tip with this but do you have any?

Well I would just tell myself to grind out the entire duration of the session. IF I decided earlier to play for 6 hours, I will not leave until the time is up.
